Lori MacDonald – Vice President, Professional Services


Lori is the Vice President, Professional Services with The Competency Group.  She brings extensive organizational skills to our team.    Passionate about human resources management, Lori has a natural ability to empower and motivate those around her.  She is a skilful leader who helps others reach their professional development goals.  Through her involvement with The Competency Group projects and her past occupational roles, Lori has worked with a number of industry professionals from a variety of fields including tourism, electricity, forestry, wind energy, land use, legislation, mining, franchise law, fisheries and ocean, and constitutional rights.

Highly experienced in project management, facilitation and research, she has completed many small- and large-scale projects for clients including:  the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council, the Electricity Sector Council, the Food Processing Human Resource Council, the Canadian Automotive Repair and Services Council, the Canadian Trucking Human Resource Council, BioTalent Canada, the Human Resources Council for the Nonprofit Sector, and the Canadian Police Knowledge Network.

Lori has her CPHR designation, and also holds a Master of Science degree in Human Resource Management, an honours diploma in Events & Conventions Management, and a Bachelor of Arts degree with first-class standing in Psychology.  Lori also has certificates in DACUM Facilitation, Systematic Curriculum and Instructional Design (SCID), and Test Writing from The Ohio State University, as well as Project Management Essentials from Procept Associates.
